About Kirsten Shrum

My Name is Kirsten Shrum and I am a self-taught Artist in Orangevale, CA. I am 25 years old and have been drawing and painting ever since I can remember.

I specialize in Acrylic Tiger Paintings. I have always been fascinated with tigers because I find them extraordinarily beautiful; creatures almost too striking and too breathtakingly beautiful to be from Earth. Even though I have enjoyed painting other animals and subjects, the challenge of captivating the essence of a tiger's complex beauty is one that always tempts and thrills me. Because the beauty of a tiger is in its every detail, naturally, I am a very detailed artist with a realistic approach. However, I have my own style and technique of painting that involves imaginative, unnatural color schemes that create my own interpretation of the tiger.

Aside from painting tigers in acrylic, I also enjoy doing pet portraits and other animals by request. I even offer people the choice of medium they want, ranging from watercolor to pastel to acrylic paint. In the past, I have even done paintings as home decor on kitchen cupboards and walls. I love to do it all and offer my work on any specialty surface you desire!

I truely enjoy creating art; it is what brings me the greatest joy, relaxation, and satisfaction in my life. I try and bring my art into everything I do. Whether its decorating a cake for someone's birthday, making scrapbooks and shadow boxes for memories, or designing cards for holidays, weddings, and other occassions, creating something beautiful and unique is my strongest drive. My art will always be the most precious thing that I can offer people and I hope it brings others as much happiness as it brings me.
